Hello WWOOFers, my name is Samuel. I am a Co Founder and CEO of an environmental preservation organization in Moshi, Tanzania. As part of our goal to educate and empower the community, we have started a wisdom terrace where the community can come to learn about organic gardening and farming for both their consumption and/or income generating activity. We innovate ways in which people living in urban environments can grow and maintain organic farms. We start them at our wisdom terrace and educate the community via our educational workshops that we conduct at our farm (wisdom terrace). We also have nursery for fruit trees, indigenous trees, herbal plants, veggies and flowers. We have a hostel with running water and electricity for our WWOOFers where they will get Tanzanian and African local cuisines and foods. WWOOFers will also engage in learning the day to day Tanzanians culture and life style also visit the natural attractions available in our humble town. Also art enthusiasts (even non art enthusiasts) can attend free art classes conducted at Wisdom Terrace. I am an artist, I love making art and music. I love skateboarding, I am a novice skateboarder. I love community works and helping my community reach its maximum potential.

My son and I joined Sam for a morning at the garden and it was great. We appreciated learning about the projects that Sam is involved in and helping out with planting avocado seeds and some weeding. Next time we’d like to stay longer. Our visit in Moshi was quite short but we thoroughly enjoyed it. Thanks Sam!

I really enjoyed my time there. Everyone was really nice. When ever I had any questions or problems they went out of there way to help me. I enjoyed the 2 weeks there a lot. Samuel explained me everything and really made me feel welcome.

I stayed three weeks at Tunza Foundation for my first woofing, and what an experience! It was one of my greatest human experiences. Samuel and Amrat set up this magnificent project two years ago and are doing everything to protect and conserve their environment in Moshi by involving the communities. I was able to learn alongside Samuel and Baba Klare on the farm but also participate in raising awareness among students in schools and clean up days in Moshi. I was hosted by Amrat's family as an integral part of the family. I was able to discover their local way of life but also exchange and share lots of moments. They put everything in place so that I could enjoy Moshi and around on weekends. Thank you for everything. I will never forget this experience. The world needs more people like you. Asanté Sana
