Organic homestead/Farmstead on the slopes of Mt Meru close to a National Park
Tanzania
We are in a small farm at the foot of the Mt.Meru, we have some animals and many projects to carry out. Both our regular & first-time guests appreciate the feeling of space & privacy at our small farm, with it's lovely natural surroundings.
We are more a home than a hostel. We located in Momella Road(1Km from the National Park) with a variety of organic activities. Our property is about 2Ha with crops and animals. We have both greenhouse and outdoor crops with a lot of local herbs and spices.
We have 5 goats,a lot of chickens,a small hatchery and 3 friendly dogs.
There's also an abundant wildlife(birds, squirells and bushbabies) recently visiting us.
We are also situated close to a natural forest which you can hike or ride.
We hope to teach you animal keeping and rearing and reproduction of the animals we have on site. (And now we are on final stages to build a new building which will be used for Wwoofers)
Our guests will eat what we eat. We believe in the "Sharing is Caring" slogan. Most of our food originates from the farm. We are hoping to teach you African cuisine and hopefully we'll learn from you too!
Our timeslots are easy--Few hours in the morning to wake and feed the animals--in the afternoon a small recap and in the evening. Some visits to neighboring farms can also be arranged.
Lively is a new house recently constructed in a compound set of two buildings: the main house and yours. The house has two bedrooms each with its own private bathroom with shower and hot water, and overlook directly on the fresh kitchen and living room equipped with everything you will need during your stay in Arusha (gas cooker oven, microwave, kettle, iron box fresh water dispenser, dishes, pots, cutlery etc). Each room has a work desk and WIFI ideal for work from home away from home.
We are thinking of ways to improve our homestead and we hope to share idea's with Wwoofers on how to improve in creating new rooms(A-frame houses),Adding Rabbits into our stock, Adding more edible plants, tree's and shrubs and a better way to host Wwoofers.
The house also has an outdoor area where you can have a BBQ

My experience at the farm was wonderful! I was received with so much love and care that I really quickly felt like part of the family! I will for sure miss them a lot! Fadhili gave me a lot of freedom so I could just choose the activities myself and help whereever I liked to (so i was mostly feeding the animals with food growing around the farm). Living so close with Fadhili, Susan and the children, I could learn a lot about tanzanian culture, food and traditions. Also I had a nice sweet house whith two rooms, bathroom and kitchen (all by myself?!) which they also rent out as AirbnB. I definitely recommend this place!
Thank you Susan and Fadhili for being so generous and sharing so much with me!
Hope to see you soon!
